about

This is a record I made with the help of the people listed below. We used microphones and computers to record it and had a good time.

For fans of acoustic music that tells an interesting and sometime strange or true story.

Track Name: And She Knows It
She dabbles in the arts
She dabbles in the arts
She'll tear your ass apart
And she knows it

She likes to play the guitar
She'll take off like a star
She makes it scream and rawr
And she knows it

She'll make you beg and plead
She'll have you on your knees
You'll be asking her please
And you know it

She wants a diamond ring
You know it'll make her sing
She'll get it from her king
And she knows it

And she knows you well
And she knows you well
She'll get what she wants
Everytime
Track Name: You Are Always Seeing Ghosts
You are always seeing ghosts
In your dreams and in your head
And when you lay down at your pillow
Don't pretend that you are dead

Oh those lighting bolts were close
Banging thunder in my ear
And the rain it was so heavy
I could not wait for it to clear

I was walking late that night
Creaking boards and shifting nails
I looked up my ceiling leaking
So I quickly grabbed a pail

You are always seeing ghosts
In your dreams and in your head
And when you lay down at your pillow
Don't pretend that you are dead

All these thoughts they bugged me out
So I went and I sought help
From a professional with an acronym
At the end of his last name

He said, “You’re always seeing ghosts
In your dreams and in your head
So when they start to talk too loudly
Just go and take this PRN”

So now I don’t see many ghosts
Because I’m sleeping in my bed
But when I wake up in the morning
You still pretend that you are dead.
Track Name: Play Us A Song We Know (You Hack)
The first time I read on the road
I was parking cars at an Italian restaurant

I dreamt of leaving work and driving late into the day
That followed new

After college I thought about taking off but instead
I took a job

And realized years later why
They didn’t teach this book in high school

Then I hear some rumbling from the back
A man stands up and begins his attack
His wife begs for him to please sit down
He opens his mouth and screams out loud

Play us a song we know
You hack
Stop talking about Jack Kerouac
Play us a song we know
You hack
You ain’t no Jack Kerouac

I read the Dharma Bums the second time I went to school
And lost my self completely in the book

Thinking about those days
in Berkeley, C-A
Beating drums and drinking wine

Now I’m employed and it gets me annoyed
But these books they always give me hope

Someday I’ll take a ride and see the countryside
When that day will come I cannot predict

Then I hear some rumbling from the back
A man stands up and begins his attack
His wife begs please sit down
He opens his mouth and screams out loud

Play us a song we know
You hack
Stop talking about Jack Kerouac
Play us a song we know
You hack
You ain’t no Jack Kerouac

One night walking home drunk from the bar
I slurred and I spit and I cursed
The pavement heard me ask you to take a walk
And tell me what it is I should do with my life
Track Name: Apples Vs. Oranges
Apples vs. oranges unite
And take that carpet out of flight
The first plane to fall out of the sky tonight

The bird will cut your gravity in half
Well you can go ahead and calculate your math
But what does it matter the right side of the equal sign

Admiring the good things that happened today
Feeding all of my quarters into an arcade game
I'd rather just lay in bed and pull the covers over my head
And try to forget about this headache

The whites of your eyes the look like eggs
When they're cracked and left in heat
You left your shells on the floor again

I can play my violin for you here it goes
Close your eyes what do you see

Admiring the good things that happened today
Feeding all of my quarters into an arcade game
I'd rather just lay in bed and pull the covers over my head
And try to forget about this headache

Just think of the time
Your subconscious has trapped in your mind
And ask him if you can write them down
But if he declines you gracious approach to rewind
Then just open up your eyes
Track Name: Song For Rose
(instrumental)
Track Name: The Thing To Do!
Everybody’s having babies
And I just want to smoke a cigarette
Others may go join the Navy
But I’m happy thanking a vet

Everybody’s buying a house
But I’m all right with my apartment
Sure you may be wasting your money
But I don’t have to mow the lawn

Cause its real and its true and it’s the thing to do

Everybody’s eating organic
And just I want to go into a panic
Try to limit your use of plastic
Did know it doesn’t biodegrade

Cause its real and its true and it’s the thing to do

If rock and roll is a waste of time
Cause writing songs at the drop of a dime
Doesn’t make the same money
As working a nine to five

If making art is a waste of time
Cause painting pictures and graphic design
Doesn’t make the same money
As working a nine to five

I’m working a nine to five
Are you working a nine to five
Cause everybody is working a nine to cinco.
Track Name: Travelin'
Traveling it’s possible for you
All you have to do is put on your shoes
Take a walk outside, try to hitch a ride
On the back of a blue jay’s wings

The whole world has plenty to see
The mountains, deserts, and Sicily
So what can I do, to persuade you?
To leave everything you have behind

Staying in the cheapest hotels
Room service ain’t ringing our bell
We’re unaware that our stomachs are bare
And tomorrow we’ll set sail again

Leaving town is possible for us
But you ain’t getting on that bus
I got your ticket in my hand, and your bag is in the van
So let’s ride until the sun becomes the night

Staying in a two star hotel
Room service ain’t ringing our bell
We’re unaware that our stomachs are bare
And tomorrow we’ll set sail again

Traveling I’m ready to move
I’m going with or without you
I’m leaving this town, see you around
Oh maybe I will, maybe I won’t

Staying in a flea bag motel
Room service ain’t ringing our bell
We’re unaware that our stomachs are bare
And tomorrow we’ll set sail again
Track Name: They Rang For You
I’ve got two pictures to finish
Then I’m done with paint for good
Wrapped up in a world
Filled with brushes, oils, and wood

I’d sell all the prints for nothing
And still hands are often tied
Give them away for free
The severance wouldn’t bother me, today

An art school princess told me
People don’t know any better
Explain to me the difference
Between a postage stamp or letter

On the same day I was spoken to
As if I was a traitor
A saint versus a savior
This puzzling behavior wrote me off

But on more than one occasion I gained sight
Right through the blind
I took the hands of time
The watch was broken
But the bells still chimed...

And they rang for you.
Track Name: Swing Set (Reprise)
I’ve got my swing set out
We’re diggin’ holes in the ground
Connecting pipes and turning screws
My smiles wide and my swing set is new

So why would I leave this town?
When my swing set is up and around.

I’ve got my swing set now
Cruise down the slide and hang upside down
The sun is shinin’ and our bruises are fresh
Swing to the right then swing to the left

How could I leave this town?
When my swing set will not come down.

I took my swing set down
The pipes were rusted and the chains were all brown
The kids are at college and some went off to work
No more hanging out at the swing set going berserk

Now I can leave this town
Cause my swing set is taken down.
Track Name: Adventure Book
I’ve got this great idea
But I haven’t had the time to think it through
It goes a little something like this
Me getting in my car
And leaving you and you and you

All I need is a bag full of clothes
And a credit card to fill up my gas tank
Throw a blanket in the back of the truck
I forgot my watch
But it’s alright
Because the sunlight can be my alarm clock

The less I know the better off I am
And whoever said that knowledge is power
Doesn’t know his ass from his hand

I don’t need to follow thee
American dream
It’s me and the open road
Meeting people writing songs and taking pictures
Maybe someday
Ill write a book about all my adventures

I’m on the road
Watch me go
I’m on the road
Please take me home

I’ve got no money for tolls
And my credit card
Was terminated last week
I’m stuck on the side of the road
Making collect calls
To all the people I tried to escape from

I’ve got this great idea
About getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.
